The manual was produced within the E5 action of the LIFE “Risorgive” project and is the project’s main technical dissemination tool. Based on the renaturalization experiences conducted with the C actions of the project and with the support of the existing literature, in particular the campaign manuals produced by other LIFE projects (Colli Berici Natura 2000), it aims to provide simple and operational information to the managers of watercourses, in order to concretely reconcile hydraulic functionality and habitat conservation.
The manual is also an useful tool for owners and farmers, in particular for the correct management of linear
arboreal-shrub systems. It provides clear and easily interpretable information by non-specialists about the identification of the various habitats, indicates the management methods aimed at conserving biodiversity and
maintaining habitats over time, respecting hydraulic needs.
It also explains how to create new habitat strips from the countryside level to the submerged environment, directly increasing plant communities and indirectly favoring animal communities, including the fish component. Although based on the experience of the Bressanvido springs, the modus operandi is exportable and applicable in other similar realities.
An important blog dedicated to European projects LIFE talked about our project and the territory of Bressanvido.
Thanks to Dr. Stefano Picchi, author of the piece, to disseminate and introduce everyone to the Life Risorgive project.
